Romanos Tatzates (Armenian Tačat), 11th century. Seal (Lead, 18 mm, 4.70 g, 12 h). XЄ RⲰ/HΘI PⲰ/MAN/Ⲱ ('Christ, help Romanos') in four lines; above, decorations. Rev. TⲰ T/ATZA/TI ('Tatzates') in three lines. Unpublished in the standard references. An interesting seal bearing an Armenian who seems to be hitherto unattested on seals. Good very fine.
